Issue with Rear Window..Please Help

Hello, This is my first post. I just purchased this 2014 on Saturday. So excited to be part of the Camaro Owner's Group!

I detailed it the day after I purchased, and everything was fine. However last night, I noticed my window looking "hazy". Can anyone assist? Ever have this problem? Any fixes for this? I DID NOT put any type of cleaner or substance on the windows when I detailed it.

I am curious if this is a problem with the factory tint, or just from hard water minerals built up from rain????

Kinda looks like what happens when you put on Rain-X when the windows are hot and/or not whipping it off completely. I would hit the windows with a cleaner/degreaser, even dish soap and warm water, while they are cool to the touch and see what happens. Is this on the outside or inside or both?

If cleaning the outside of the window doesn't work you could try polishing it; I polished/sealed (waxed) my windows not too long ago and not only are they clean as hell but they shed water like crazy too

It is rather weird, you cannot see the marks from the inside of the vehicle. Only when you are standing outside of it. Its possible the dealer didn't wipe the windows at all, but in person it doesn't look like a "film" more so that the window itself is hazing.

Are the windows tinted with after market tint. It looks to me like the tint is going bad.

My car looks exactly the same. Have owned it since brand new, no tint or anything.

Frustrating right?

I saw some suggestions from another site, about using very fine steel wool, wiping away the excess w/ microfiber, then hitting it with window cleaner.

Then I saw some people say its just because the windows are polarized, that's what they look like sometimes.

So I am not sure what to do. I don't want to jack up the back window and scratch it all up or anything.

Please excuse me if this is a "Captain Obvious" question, but have you cleaned the inside surface of the rear window?

It's hard to reach and the previous owner may have never done it. The rear window does get hazy from outgassing of plastic parts of the interior, or even more so from cigarette smoke.

If you do clean it, be gentle to avoid damaging the defogger wires.

No need to worry about the question. Yes, the dealer cleaned it as well as myself. You cannot see the haze from the inside of the vehicle, and you can barely see it when its out of the sun.

Well I'd say just to live with it. At least you'll have something to talk about when the subject comes up.

I would try cleaning it with white vinegar and water. If it's still there, it really might just be something to live with.

Use a "OO" or "OOO" steel wool pad with a glass cleaner. Do the entire window then do it again with just glass cleaner.
