Not the specific solution, but on the SST we ran a -12 line from each valve cover (note the fat black line going to the shock tower in the pic) to dedicated breathers. Has been tested up to 38 psi with

extremely minimal blow-by.

I removed the check valve RX breather and no issues with the rear seal or oil leaks under the car at all. I think i am also going to run a line from the passenger side valve cover port to the Procharger air filter inlet for even more flow.

My boost tops out at 12psi at only about 5300rpm, i am having pretty good belt slip at this rpm.

My tune was done as a speed density tune first, then Pat G did a MAF tune, then enable both tunes so he says i have the best of both worlds and the extra un metered air from removing the check valve is not causing any issues that i can see. Car runs great at any speed.

This is the open breather I've been using with my Elite catch can. I'm changing over to the Monster can and plan on drilling out the valve cover orafice, but had reservations about going with the valved breather. Currently running 14 lbs at 5280' and have seen mist blow by on the dyno when breather gets oil build up. I clean it up with CAI filter cleaner and all is good for quite a while. My thinking was I'd rather have a "pressure relief" than blow seals. If I end up with oil on my coil covers, then at least I know a have a problem. Plus I'm tuned with the breather, so unmetered air is already accounted for. Glad I found this thread..... confirms what I thought could happen.

After seeing some oil from the rear main seal on a forum members car we just put a YSi on, we removed the check valve in his breather and changed the PCV setup, now we added a few more lbs of boost and all is solved!

Can anyone confirm (maybe Ted

since your do all my tuning) that we can run an open breather without a sd tune? I bought the rx monster and rx checked breather but kind of want to run an open breather to avoid issue as my rear main is bad already.
