I am using NGK 6ix plugs. A little colder due to headers and a few other mods.

Do most of you change your own plugs and is it difficult to do?

They are very easy to do and shouldn’t take you longer than 30 mins. A swivel and a spark plug socket are a must.

I watched several youtube on this and it seemed like they were taking parts from the engine in order to access the plugs. But at 30 minutes that is only about 7 minutes per plug. I might give it a go. I am at 100K bone stock 2013 2SS except for the Volant filter system.Same car you have except for 1 year.

I seen a white paper from Denso that stated their Iridium spark plugs were designed for 200k or the life of the car. But this was for non GDI engines. GDI engines could use a plug change every 50k for optimal performance.

I've changed them @100k and they looked good yet.

1 beer, tools, anti-seize and 11 ftlb of torque on them which is not a lot fyi. It is accessible and roomy on the V8 camaros

I have yet to do them in my LS7 but I can guarantee they'll be easier to replace than the ones in the mid '80s turbo Buick shown in your avatar.

Manual calls for plug changes every 97.5k miles under normal driving conditions, so I'll wait until then on my ride.
I've only ever pulled a plug one time on the car due to a misfire. Plug looked a little dark on the end, but nothing seemed out of the ordinary to me. I suspect that I may have overfilled the engine oil because I'm a moron and it may have oil fouled the plug, but that's just a hunch on my part.

Am I the first person to ask what kind of plugs you have? That makes a big difference.
Copper? Platinum? Iridium?
