I hate the snow....no really.

lol welll i woke up yesterday morning and the news was calling for snow around midnight-1am this morning, so i figured well i get off at about 10 so id be just fine getting home...wrong. i get off at 10, and its snowing real light...alright i thought well lets get home...closer i got to home, the harder it snowed and the deeper it was getting...i stand to tell you...summer tires and snow DO NOT mix lol. they do just fine in rain and cold temps but when the snow hits thats game. going down hills etc was fine but going up them was another story...to keep the story short, were under 16inches of snow right now and my baby is sitting at the local police department about 10 mintues away, however she is safe and sound and in one piece. ( i also refer to it as the hornets nest...lol)

picture of the mess around here:

any snow stories from you all?

Living in Idaho snow is nothing new, but I hate it! Summer tires and snow are not compatable. I barely got back in my garage when I got caught by a surprise storm. Second gear starts and a lot of cussing gets you down the road.

Drove mine home new in the snow from the dealer. Lets just say I got to know the car very well that night. 21" wheels with those Pirelli's...lets just say I won't be doing that again any time soon. We tend to get the wet icy crap over here and traffic though which makes it challenging for any car. Still have an AV when I need it.

A couple weeks ago we had a dusting of snow in Houston and then a 30 deg freeze...
It was so cold smoke actually came out of the tail pipes..
I know how you guys feel...

First snow this year was today, only about 2 inches but here is last year...

Camaros are washed, waxed, covered and tucked away in the garage now. No garage last year :( IROC had to face the elements. This year we have a new house so its in the garage.

I love snow...

C'mon ya'll! I love snow... Course where I live it is hotter than hell and the humidity is misable ten out of twelve months and it's a HUGE deal here if it snows. Everyone runs outside to look and take pictures because most of them have never seen snow. It actually becomes the top news story here if it snows, no matter what else is going on. REALLY! It usually stops quickly, but a few weeks ago it actually snowed all day and people got really freaked out and went home about two hours later, the schools al let out early and all the parents had to go get their children from daycare (because they close when the schools do). But even thought it snowed all day, it barely left an inch on the ground in grassy areas, on roofs, trees and parked cars. Nothing stcuk on the roads or any where else. Grew up in that stuff and have lots of love for snow. It's very hard to get into the holiday spirit when its 85 degrees outsdie and 95% humidity and you are outside in shorts like it is around here most years. I would own a Jeep as a second vehicle if I lived in snow county though, as it is I get to drive my SS year round and only have to deal with the miserable heat or constant rain in the winter, which as you know, takes all the fun out of driving an SS too.
