sluggish and hesitates???
Car just seems to do this on cold start up and drive. Do camaros need time to warm up?? Feels like thiers a hesitation in acceleration in low gears. Tech says cant find anything wrong.

There's a thread a few days old on here discussing the surging when the engine is cold. Seems to be the norm until it's warmed up.

You could do a fuse pull to see if it makes any difference

So you just fire her up and start romping on it? Give the car a little break. What do you expect?

It's normal, all cars have this "feature" more or less, especially small displacement FI engines but also larger NA engines.

Mine does that, even with all the mods I have... It'll feel like it gets a small acceleration surge while cold and rowing through gears, other times there's a delay in the pedal and the engine response.. It's all gone once the engine is at operating temp..

I just write it off as making an engine do work before it's at operating temperature.. The manual trans and my suspension make the sensation very exaggerated.
However, if you feel something is truly wrong with the car and you feel the mechanic may have missed something.. bring it somewhere else. |

I've never noticed any hesitation during cold starts and mine has sat outside in sub-freezing temps. Is this specific to the V8s?
Just curious. |

If it clears up once you get to working temps I would not worry about it.
I know my car vibrates like crazy for the first 2-3 miles when I drive it out of the garage after sitting at least overnight. Nothing but the tires getting back into round again!!! Worried me at first until I realized what it was. Got worse when I put the 275 on front and 315s on back but goes away quickly and reminds me to let things settle in when starting out on the road with the camaro. If it does not get better at working temps, something is clearly wrong.
