Ok that's what thought that's no big deal didn't they block them off on our cars though I haven't pulled this engine apart yet I'm use to the lq4 so it had all of the pipes already.

I'm tracking I might just go this route seems like not a lot of people have experience with them and 77and2010 hasn't had a problem worth a shot I guess unless anyone else knows a sponsor that wants to chime in about what makes there program better or members have any suggestions

Hotrod magazine did an article on Rectangular port and GMPP heads held their own.

Have you considered the LsA heads which are cast differently and can handle the cylinder pressures better.

There are certainly better cnc ported head choices but probably not many for that kind of money. If your on a budget then they look like a good choice. In any case they are going to help your setup more than the factory heads. When you factor in selling your old heads they are really cheap because most places ask for a core. I would recommend LS9 head gaskets and ARP studs or at least ARP bolts when you put it back together. Should end up making at least 20RWHP with a loss of boost. Add the boost back and your probably looking at 40+RWHP. Post results when done.

This. All the holes are open when they come out of the boxes. You either use them as Little88 said or plug them your self with the $6 rivets from GM.

I considered lsa heads but every company I spoke with said the ls3 heads were fine for what I wanted to do I am going to run head studs and have the ls9 head gasket should put my compression with the heads at 9.23:1 which is perfect. One bad thing I will say about the lsa heads I'm having a hard time living with is, everywhere you look it cost roughly 1500 for a good cnc job with new valves and springs on an ls3 head, but for some reason lsa heads to get machined you can double that amount.

It is expensive. And to me justifying that much then I'd just go with a TFS head which I know will handle anything thrown at it and being able to run larger cams and better flow.

I've seen the GMPP heads before & they're nice. For the money there are plenty of better options IMHO, if you want to do cnc stock castings why not do the PRC cnc head exchange program? You send your heads in as cores & get ported ones back for under a grand! If your going to spend big $$ the only way to go would be the PRC 255 or 260 heads IMHO! 380cfm capable out of a head that has better p/v clearance, smaller chambers, virtually stock side runners for better velocity, and they can still use your stock rockers!

I've talked to you guys about doing my heads before I'm leaning more toward you guys than any other aftermarket machine shop either way I want to run your guys .675 eht springs I think they will work best with my cam I have. But you guys down there never treated me wrong and I'm always referring people to you.
