Hey Matt: I think it's only us Canadians that have this demented straight up sense of humour. My account has been suspended numerous times already because of my straight talk regarding this vehicle.
Straight talk is considered negative ZL1 bashing.

Cal: we should start an A-hole club! We could be on the Board of Directors...hahaha.....

I like the Canadian straight talk.....At least nobody ever has to wonder what's on your mind, eh?

Hahahaha..... for real. If we lose our ability to speak our minds we might as well change the language we speak. Ummm.... oh, yeah we did that already. LOL
Sometimes, the truth hurts, but truthfull feedback is much more valuable than brown nosing. Otherwise nothing gets better, Eh? Cheers.

"IF" money wasn't an object... you could buy direct from Hennessey with 20K upgrades. Would be better than buying in SoCal with a 15k premium and getting no upgrades... Hennessey is #1 on the ZL1 list at my dealership, but I'm quite sure it's already spoken for. I'm #3.

Hope to hear you get a line on one soon...

I'm with Zed, I'm not paying above sticker for a Camaro - it's still a Chevrolet. First dealer told me I can spec their first car and will have the first opportunity to "buy that car." The second of my ZL1 dealers told me today "..we spoke to Chevrolet today (Monday Nov. 28) and they said we would get 1 allocation in December." From everything I've read, ZL1's will not be built and certainly not delivered until maybe February 2012. Has this changed? Even though I have been working these dealers for months, I still haven't placed an order and don't know what the price is going to be. But, I am willing to walk away and be patient. Any comments?

Thanks but truth is I don't know if I have a problem or not. The allocations are not a problem because the 2 dealers have 4 and 3 allocations in 2012, respectively. (I'm down to 2 dealers from 3) Dealer one says he'll order the car I want and give me "the first opportunity to buy that car." I read that as possible dealer markup. Dealer 2 told me this morning if "we order the car in December, he would not expect to see the car until late January or early February..." No other details?? I'll keep in touch with them and see what happens but at this time I don't feel like I am a confirmed ZL1 receipent.

Sounds like you have a plan. I know if it were me, I would not hold out too long. But then again your talking to someone that got burned already on my deposit...
HAHAHA! Its all good. Good Luck!

Frankly, any dealer that marks a car up from MSRP is a f***ing parasite. And that's being nice. I wouldn't buy a Dr. Pepper out of their soda machine. Let them sit on the car and pay the interest on the note they have from their bank for a year, they'll get the idea. Morons. And for the "must haves" that do pay this extortion fee, you're nuts. I say wait until the economy tanks next year and see what happens....

I remember when Chrysler came out with the PT Cruiser and the must haves paid extreme amounts over MSRP for that go-cart.

Absolutely. And how about those guys who had a deposit down months ago at promised MSRP only to have them backtrack and want an added markup when it came time to order. Asshats

So now the 580HP ZL1 has a GAS GUZZLER TAX yet the 650HP GT500 has none...

No word on how much the tax will be, lets hope GM makes some last minute revisions.
