Steve Dinan: BMW sets the tone for future combustion engine development
Some of you may know Steve Dinan for his work in tuning BMW's with upgraded performance parts and software. This article provided what I think is probably the most accurate depiction for the future of powertrain development for the immediate future outside of hybrids and more "radical" alternatives, and besides that Steve Dinan knows his stuff:

My ex roommate used to work with Dinan. He got a personal ride in Steve's own M5. Steve's a real nice guy in person too. He definitely knows what he's talking about, and I'm glad he's giving a heads up about what Bimmer's doing about it. Then again, he is just giving away common knowledge. Since it's coming from an official mouth, even the skeptics and people who think turbo'd 4 cyls will kill the Camaro name will have to listen.
