Is there a comparable car to the 1LE?

My brother is in the market for a new car. We have been looking the world over for another daily driver that he can track on the weekend other than the 1LE. We can't come up with one. The 1LE is the top of his price range so he really can't spend much more than $40k. He races NASA CMC and wants a car he doesn't have to trailer every time he wants get some laps in.

The only reason we are looking for something different is because his other 3 brothers including me have Camaro's. Dad and uncle have Z28s.

We have had thoughts about waiting to see what the new mustang has to offer but my family has always raced Chevys so it's hard to let go.

I don't mean to sound spoiled but we have three C6 Z06s and one is dedicated to track days. We all work in a family business and we spend nearly every penny we make on race cars. We are lucky in a sense that we all really enjoy the same thing and can pool 6 peoples extra spending money to race.

This is the youngest brother and the one that got us into road racing, the rest of us we're drag racers only. He finally is in a spot to own a new car and wants it to be sporty for track days. I can't explain it but it makes sense to me.

A Boss 302, M3, WRX STi, something along those lines. I'm not sure what mixture of daily/track you're looking for, but there are a pretty good amount of options out there.

The new 15 mustang with the track pack will come in at the same price range as a new 1LE . I think it will be able to go head to head with the 1LE in price and performance . Ford is now making the new 2015 mustang started in july .

The Mustang and Challenger "track packs" are a joke. No Mustang other than the Boss 302 has been a well-handling the track car. While the GT500 is quick around a track, it does it with tires (F1 G2s) and a truck-load of horsepower. It handles terribly and has little to no feedback. It is a terrible track car.

The mustang track pack adds a lot to the mustang. Maybe it's for all types of "tracking" because it's still slow on the road course but do it adds anything to it on the drag strip, faster times?

The new Mustang is the first MY to introduce RIS, so I would not be so quick to dismiss the new model until you see what it can do.

I agree past models are a joke on the track, but this one will be much different.

How any mods does a 370z have to do to keep pase with a LE? Just curious because I have always felt that car was set at an awkward price and HP.
