I didn't realize I was in a competition.

Frankly, this is my first gaming computer, and I thought it was pretty decent. Especially with only $50 out of pocket. I wasn't bragging or trying to prove anything with this thread. I am just stoked that I'll have a desktop and internet back in the house after not having them for a long time.

Your computer is solid. The Core i7 extreme is a waste of money. PCs are cheap right now even for big power. If you want to tag on big $$$ and get the tip top components, thats fine, but they are not the top long enough to justify that kind of money.

As for the storage bottleneck someone mentioned, a pair of Raptors (10k drives) in RAID 0, or SSD setup will help that. I alwyas have 10k drives in my desktop and it works well.

Solid state drives are the best, and I can tell you the I7 is not a waste of time when the machine has solid state drives with tons of RAM.

I7 is a waste of time if you don't overclock it, considering an I7 is just an overclocked I5 for half the price.

Where can I buy an I7 for half the price of an I5?

Any how depending on the the I7 you choose that isn't the only difference.

looks like a great system. The only difference I would have changed was the graphics card and a solid state drive.

The I7 has double the cache on the 45nm triple on the 32nm.
