ROTOFAB - whine at highway speeds ?
Contemplating a ROTOFAB air intake. The blower whine would be fine, but how does it sound at cruising on the highway (75-85mph) ? Is the whine only present during boost (acceleration) ?

Is it louder with the rotofab than with a stock intake?

Do you want the insatll the intake or not?, Is it you or your wife/girlfriend that is complaining about the "noise"? I have yet to hear of an owner saying the car sounds too "loud"!

I'm having a hard time imagining why anyone would worry about a little more intake noise on a ZL1. It's probably one of the most obnoxious cars on the road with one of the loudest factory exhausts I've ever heard at startup. A slightly louder intake will complement the exhaust note rather well. A CAI should have come on the car from the factory just like the upcoming Z28.

Love this answer! Maybe can somebody weigh the ROTOFAB as well and so we can answer that question before it comes up and somebody contemplates a CIA because of the weight savings!

The only time you will really hear much of a difference is right when you hit the gas, or are in boost. Cruising will sound the same. Please feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.
