Listing of all bushings and their purpose
I was looking on here (as well as I googled it) but didn't come across anything close enough to what I'm about to ask here. Maybe there is an actual thread post about it, and I'm just not properly accessing it. But my question to all is-
Do anyone know or is there a way that one can find out what are the different types of bushing that exist on the camaro? What are their job performances? I would like to start changing out all my bushings if possible. But not sure where to actually start. Would you advise one to change out all, or certain bushings? I've read up on what pedders, and what pdaft had to offer (bushing wise). Thxs in advance

The front inner control arm bushings and radius rod bushings are responsible for maintaining camber and caster in the front end. Bushing deflection under load can allow the wheels to wander causing inconsistent handling characteristics when pushing the car hard in the corners. The rear has a lot of links which means a lot of bushings. The most important ones to replace first are the cradle (subframe) bushings. These are the large bushings that attach the cradle to the chassis. The factory bushings allow too much deflection which, in turn, allows all of the rear suspension to drift during acceleration, handling, and braking. I would say the second most important bushings in the rear to upgrade are the trailing arm and toe rod bushings. Most people just upgrade the trailing arms and toe rods instead since they cost only slightly more and you get a bulletproof arm with greasable bushings for practically the same cost and labor. Upper control arm bushings start becoming a problem if you like to drag race or road race. These control the counter-rotation of the spindle as the vehicle transitions from acceleration to deceleration. The differential bushings prevent pinion rise and fall as you get on and off the throttle. This movement can create erratic power transmission and wheel hop which hurts off-the-line traction. You can view all of these bushings with descriptions on our website by following the link in my signature. Additionally they all have their own specific instruction sheets that you can view to see just what is necesarry to install them. |

Thxs BMR Guy. Though I'm familiar with a few of the bushings and their description due to the conversations members have on the site about it. There were those few I'm not to familiar with until now. It's going to help me out a lot as I move towards making my purchases with the bushings.
