Pulled Onstar Module...

Gave me a stabilitrack error on start, and cannot use the suspension modes... the tour and sport lights are out.

Just wanted to see how car responded with it out...

Still have blue tooth music, car connects to the phone for phone conversations and they can be heard through the speakers but you cannot talk to people.

Still have navigation (shows me my current location, didnt go for a drive yet) xm preview(no sub here), and am/fm

Going to open it up and pull the comm bridge out, reinstall it ... see if i can get my suspension modes back.

The small bridge connects the main board with the small board (antenna) still in the case...

I plan on leaving that out per some other instructions and seeing if everything works again.

I find it poopy that the onstar box knows / plays a roll in my PTM settings...

Hopefully i will stop receiving emails about my car from onstar

The Onstar module doesn't know what your settings are, but it is often a pass-through for the CAN line(the data link that connects the various modules). When the module is removed, any downstream module is cut off from the network. I don't have a diagram on me, but if you get one, you should be able to create a jumper for the CAN lines.

Put the box back in minus the bridge... PTM modes and setting back... no stabilitrack warnings...

BT Audio Works, Nav Works, Still cannot use the mic for voice phone calls, which is fine...

All is well

Was this a weight reduction mod or did you want 'big brother' to not see you doing a buck fifty?

Sorry, bad info about the mic... it works, i just went out and tried it. There is a red icon (circle with line through onstar symbole) now on the rearview mirror.

Here is link to where i got the info on how to disable onstar

No not weight reduction... that box is not even a lb... and you have to reinstall it.

i take my car to road courses, only time i really speed around town is when im testing a tune and data logging or burnishing brakes... and that is all on back roads... mainly dont need a company tracking my car data... wether its monthly diagnostic info / tire pressures / oil life... etc

Just a personal preference...

Wish you were closer. I've pulled the boxes out of my previous cars but that was before Bluetooth
