AGP twin vs PD blower (Kenne Bell 2.8)

For anyone interested here is the power difference between the PD blower and twin turbos.
Background: My car is a 2014 1LE stock engine with a full fuel system on E85, ID1000 injectors and 3" exhaust through mufflers.

Both where run at 17psi

Turbos where 57/57 with .82 AR

good post. How about seat of pants driving? that torque on the blower is incredible, i would imagine that would translate to the street fairly well.

Thanks for sharing these results. Was the same dyno used?

The blower is better suited for a street car...

Two things. Looks like a non loaded dyno so that's worthless for seeing how turbos spool up. We usually see 600wtq at 3600rpm on a real loaded dyno.
Those are pretty big turbos if you are worried about getting into TQ quick, those will make almost 1100whp.
Smaller turbos in .63 housings, ballbearing have much faster spool and still have made 840whp. Much more top end than a KB 2.8 can support. And all without crazy heat soak.
Sort of an apples to oranges comparo, guess you had way more turbo than you needed.

Your dyno is likely just a 2000lb roller and zips through a whole pull in a couple seconds. So you don't see where the turbos spool up in real world conditions and it went through so fast it didn't even show real peak torque at 4600rpm. I assure you would have been 60-80 higher than the peak you see.

The dyno plot in a way shows how power comes on with each FI. Wow - I whole 135/76 difference between the two at the same PSI (parasitic and efficiency). But the SC has that low-end, whiplash torque down low that makes street fun. All until the turbo car spools up next to you where you're in the power band of 4400-6500rpms. Yippe ki ya!

Interesting comparison, are you running the stock cam?

I know it's been asked before, but can you give a rundown of how your fuel system works?

Do you know which turbos were used for this run?

Both setups require different cams. I see no added value other than showing why you need different cams.
