To participate in SCCA club racing you will need to get licensed via one of the regions
school events. Most folks need two schools to get licensed. You will need an scca approved car for the school. IE: caged, competition car. You can rent rather than buy. Central Fl region hosts two per year. You can also get your SCCA regional license by going to Skip Barber, Bob Bondurant, or one of many other fine road racing schools.

SCCA regions now have PDX events, (HPDE) that you can use your street car to get some track time. CFR does this with their driver schools.

You might want to try one of the HPDE events like Chin Motorsports, or with PBOC and others. Going this route might give you an idea whether or not you want to go wheel to wheel racing or just stick with HPDE or SOLO type events.

There is an SCCA event at Daytona next weekend, if you want to check it out.

some car clubs rent sebring and split costs. its around 300-500 for a half day i think. I'd also love to do this, not sure but don't think a special license or anything other than helmet are required but i really have no idea.
