Engine Knock in 6th Gear

I'm chasing an issue I can't seem to figure out. When cruising on the highway, dropping it into 6th gear I get engine knock when I try to accelerate. Usually that's between 1800-2200 RPM in 6th trying to accelerate. That is the ONLY time I get any kind of knocking in the engine. I've only ever put in 93 and have pulled the fuses a few different times to ensure its reset.

I have a BTR stage 3, LT, cold air, catch can, and of course a tune to go with the cam and LT install. I'd take it back to the guy that tuned it, but he went out of business (not for bad work... but that sucks). I've also tried octane booster in a couple tanks, but doesn't seem to help. Has a strong MAF according to the codes and have cleaned it.

Not sure what else to try other than finding another tech who can check the tune and potentially update it. Just not many options in my neck of the woods.

Yes. And it isn't there when holding a speed (65-75) at 1800-2200 RPM. It only happens when I try to accelerate from that range in 6th. Accelerating from that RPM range in 5th or lower, it doesn't happen.

To me it's always sounded like knock from bad gas or something. But, I've never put in below 93 and have tried other steps to try and fix it. Only has 42k miles on it.

Its not your motor its your tranny might b able to save rest of it if you get it fixed right away and till then leave it out of 6th you now have a 5 spd. Now this is just my opinion on what you have said your issues are i would also if your not sure try n get on lift and run through gears to 6th and look and listen, but seeing as its only in 6th im going with tranny

I have too, just hard to find a good time to get down there and ask questions. It's over an hour away. But may have to do it just to get it retuned.

Thanks. Not something I would have considered an issue to this point. Hoping I don't have move that ahead of all my other performance upgrade stages.

Try downshifting for your engines sake . You are lugging the engine.

I'm talking about doing 70-80 MPH on the highway in 6th and barely pushing the pedal to accelerate 2-3 MPH to pass someone on the left. Or even having it on cruise control at those speeds and going up a hill. Those are not scenarios for downshifting.
