2013 V6 P0171 and P0174 lean codes, HELP!

2013, V6 6sp 85K miles with a CAI, ported stock TB ported intake manifold, manifold spacer and cat back exhaust with no resonators. No turbo/ SC or head work, basically stock with a few bolt ons. I bought it at 60K (2 years ago) miles and never had a CEL of any kind or P0171 & P0174 codes. I put on the ported intake manifold and about 50 miles of driving it pulls strong and works fine but the CEL came on and popped those codes. I double checked the hoses and whatnot, i've taken this part of the upper engine apart 2 times before with no CEL. I deleted the codes and drove 250 miles before they came back. I'm triple checking the connections and whatnot right now but lost for what else to check.

I clean the MAF every oil change, and i'm currently running chevron 91 because i'm supposed to get a tune at a local reputable Camaro shop. Just worried the tune won't fix the lean issue. Any help would be awesome!

Is that was supposed to cause these codes? I don't have ported heads either.

Chibi great advice as always! The foul hose they are referring to is the pch on top of the manifold right?

Yeah, that's where you would have cut to install the catch can.

The catch can actually sounded like it had a vac leak, I couldn't get it to go away so i removed it for 250 miles and the CEL still came back. So i' wondering if that hose isn't making a good seal on the top of the manifold.

Yeah I would check for a vac leak there then. Did you replace it with a new factory un-cut hose?

Not yet, ordering it now from a local Chevy store, gonna put it in tomorrow and make sure everything else is secure and not leaking then drive it for 200-300 miles before I bring it in for the dyno tune. Update to come shortly!

Ok, great little write up, we use to use carb cleaner to check for vacuum leaks.

Oh, thought you were making a funny . Sorry to hear about the blown HG.

Replaced the line with a new uncut factory foul air hose. CEL came on within 20 miles . So my OBDII code reader i have is acting up so i can't get any fuel trims to test the purge valve... i Guess its cheaper to just buy one and replace it since the car has 85K miles on it, rather than spending $100+ hr on diag at a shop??

Wondering if 'm going to have to bite the bullet and bring it into a stealership

The purge valve test was just putting your finger on it and seeing if you feel vacuum. Shouldn't be too tough of a test for you, without wasting the money of just buying it.

If you are planning on taking it into a dealership for diagnostics, you NEED to return it to stock first, everything. If this is vacuum related, they are going to take it apart piece-by-piece and run tests, and your diagnostics fee will be like 6+ hours.

So I would do the purge valve test first, if that passes, I would honestly remove the UIM spacer, and also check the whole UIM for cracks. Also buy a new gasket kit, I don't like to reuse those blue rubber ones.
