2013 came with SS mufflers.

I finally got me a 2013 zl1. I knew before I purchased it that someone swapped the mufflers out with what looks like ss or v6 mufflers. My question is do you think it's worth buying a Corsa or just find 2 npp mufflers to put back on it? My main concern is if the $1400 spent on an exhaust will be worth it or spend some of that on 2 npp mufflers and get some other goodies such as CAI? Thanks for reading guys and I hope to hear from some knowledgeable folks.

I have stock NPP with no cat's and headers and can think of anything that sounds better.

Opinion only, If looking for gains spend the money on stock npp and use the extra or savings for Headers, CAI, pulleys etc rather than back half of the exhaust

Makes sense...I wish I could find a set off NPP's. I'd love to find the previous owners of this car. I found the original guy on here and he said he had the 75hp upgrade done to it. Looks like the cai and pulley are gone.

If I was in your shoes I would find a used NPP setup, I see them all the time on Facebook and in the marketplace and they will not hurt your wallet too much. Headers with the NPP exhaust is a great set up and sounds incredible.

Good luck

I'm with these guys. I get compliments all the time asking what exhaust it has on it. I personally think it is the best sounding car I've ever owned. Plus, with a relay/switch setup, you can keep your neighbors and/or your wife happy.

I think it sounds good stock with the fuse pull, then once you add the headers its just perfect. WOT is down right nuts, and puts a huge smile on my face each time. For sure the best sounding card I have owned as well!

With my Forza controller I can control the flaps and quiet the car down. Its so nice when you dont want the volume! I found a NPP exhaust for $450 on facebook if you are interested, I think he was located in California.

The NPP system sounds pretty damn good with a set of headers. I have to ask though if they swapped in some stock mufflers from a SS do you now have single exit tips on each side? Does it even fit the rear valance?
Well, if you can't find a NPP system to replace it with we have some killer aftermarket systems. A few big sellers would be Corsa, Stainless Works, Flowmaster and Borla. The B&B Fusion system also retains the NPP, that's a killer system. They're all on sale with code CAMARO5 too.

Thanks for the reply guys. How much power will an aftermarket give me aver stock. I like the idea of headers and keeping the npp. I do have neighbors. Lol

0-5 hp. Aftermarket catbacks are for sound only unless you are highly modified and need a larger diameter and higher flowing catback.

+1, and I believe highly modified in this case means like over 800 or 900 at the wheels before you might see an appreciable difference with a 3" tube over stock.

I imagine headers would do better numbers than that?

Absolutely. Getting rid of the main restriction (cat) through removal or replacing with high flows is the largest gain. Less need for help from scavenging due to the boost, but I've seen intake, headers (and tune) pick up 35+ at the wheels over stock.
