Problem is I have had a few Garmin's with the audio connected thoough cassette of my old car. Though I love what Garmin brings, I hated having two wires stringing across my dash to the windshield like Christmas lights.

So, I was thnking how could I do this on my Camaro and avoid all the wire annoyance?

Hmm, what about buying the Garmin "Portable Friction Mount" (See below), folding down the sides and slipping it in the cup holder. Then from the Console, just plug in the power and Aux audio??

What do you think? Good idea? or
I don't think you would get a signal from the GPS satellites there, your roof will block the signal...

Is there a free version of pigtones.com? Or can someone extract the files and host them? lol... I dunno if we're allowed to ask questions like that, if not feel free to edit.

Ok, so I listened to some of those and they are pretty bad imitations.

Good point ... Well that saved me a few bucks. Thanks.

Sure would be cool if the GPS industry came up with a standard power/audio interface that cars could adopt in some sort of dock on your car dash. Kind of like they added USB. Just dreaming I guess.

Oh, well ... I digress ... :(

Guess I can leave my Garmin in the console plugged in if I want to find the nearest Starbucks or Cheap Gas or Traffic ...

MightyT try proclip.com and mount it that way. I got one from them. When I get my car in a couple of weeks, I'll post pics.

Thanks very much Darth_Emma ... I kinda like the console mount ... The challenge is always the visible power cables.

What I like about the console mount is it right next to the aux. power port, so the cable isn't strung across the car. A little black twisty tie will keep it neatly in place.

Which TOMTOM do you have?

Just saw this thread and I am so going to make me a SGM for my Garmin. You have a pic of the screen with it?

Downloading now, for anyone who wants a different color I can do it. You just have to go through each little image and alter the color. The real value in this mod is the coding, not the actual image.

Curious if people are successfully changing the color of the Bubblebee Camaro to match their own from this website? I'd like to make a white one with black stripes. Any luck?
