Hello Folks! I had something on my mind that I wanted to ask you all. Recently, I read an article on autoblog.com saying that C&D went to see the 2011 Mustang. As the worst kept secret in town, everyone knows that the 5.0 Coyote engine is to be placed in the car making 400+ HP. I was wondering, if the 2011 Mustang makes 4oo+ HP and weighs less than the Camaro, how will the Camaro compete?

I wanted to hear your take on it. Are you worried ? Are you leaving it up to mods to beat the 2011 Mustang? Do you think GM is doing something as we speak to compete with the new Mustangs? Please let me know.

Please do not flame me for this, I was just wondering since I read the article.I just want to make sure that Camaro always stays on top (even though I am a fan of all American Muscle :flag2.

I hope those who are waiting to get their cars get them soon and I hope those who have their cars are enjoying the living hell out of it.

Correct me if I am wrong, but a bigger displacement engine might way a bit more. The 2010 mustangs weighed only three hundred less than our maros. I don't see how Ford can lower the weight by much. I wouldn't be too worried about it. They might be able to keep up with us, but I dunno bout beatin us.

I'm not worried about the hp a car puts out. I order a v6. To tell you the truth and a funny story, Before I ordered my Camaro I went and took a 2010 Mustang for a test drive "I owned a 2007 Mustang". It was a stripped out GT. I really liked the car. I was also in a hurry to get out of my 2008 truck. I was dragging my feet ordering a Camaro and didn't want to wait. When I first walked into the dealer I asked about the blue gt they had listed on their site. He said yeah we have it it's in the shop. He took me back to show it to me. As we were walking I told him he had to talk be out of ordering a Camaro. I took the Mustang for a 20 minute test drive with my wife. She looks at me and tells me that the car was me hehe. I want back to talk price. The sales guy went on to tell me that he sold 4 of them that am and bla bla bla. So we started to talk price. He was only willing to take around $200 of sticker and wanted to low ball me on my 2008 truck. I am not sure how he figured out his math but it looked like he was trying to add a few grand to the price. I told him he was ****ing nuts and I was going to go order my Camaro (I did a few weeks later). I was not worried about the power of the car I wanted something that looked good and was more "me". One of the first trips I make when I get my Camaro is going to be to the Ford dealer I was at. I am going to find the guy and thank him for being an ass. I will tell him that because he was an ass I was able to make the RIGHT choice with my money . I am thinking about bringing somebody to video tape it hehe. So to kinda reply to your post I don't care if the new Mustang put out 700hp. I am happy I am getting my Camaro. As I said I want a car that is more "Me" .

I would NEVER by a Mustang! There are already 500,000,000 of them on the road....... they ALL look alike ..... I drive 65 miles round trip a day & I can tell you I see them coming & going...... I counted 17 on my way home one afternoon.

I am buying the Camaro for the looks of this car & that's it. It looks different from all the other cars on the road today. Now...in a few years..... there may be a TON of Camaros all looking alike on the road, but until then...... I will be so happy to drive a Camaro!!

I also am pleased with all the extra's that come with the Camaro... so that's just icing on the cake for me!!

I'm not worried about it if its faster or not. I bought the car cause I like Chevys, cause the car looks great, cause I know I will get close to 200,000 miles from the car and it came with options I needed (bluetooth and Ipod connection).

Now that I have the car I can say it is extemely comfortable and a great ride. It actually reminds me of driving a Lexus. The seats are awesome and there is a ton of room all around in the front.

No matter what you buy there will be advantages and disadvantages.

The rear end of the current model Mustang is such a turn-off, at least for me.

I for one, could care less. I bought my 6th Camaro because I like it, not with any hint of comparing it to a Mustang or any other car in any way, shape or form. This thing about which weighs less, more power, etc. is a never ending and pointless discussion (IMO only and no offense intended to anyone). Drive what you have knowing full well that there is ALWAYS going be someone who is driving a faster and better looking car, Mustang or otherwise. I like them all.

To SNV a friend once told me that carmas a bitch so I wouldn't go back and bother that dealership. I was going to do the same to a dealer because i wanted to order from them but they wanted 2000 over msrp and laughed at me when i asked about a millitary discount. So I orderd from another dealer and planned on doing the same thing. So I would enjoy the car and not stir up trouble most dealers are out to make a living just like you and me the more money they get the better but doesnt mean you gotta buy from them lol.

So, if the 500hp Shelby on You tube can barely catch and squeek out a win at the end of a quarter mile vs an SS, why would you worry about a 400 hp GT????? As a former Ford man, I realized for some reason Ford hp numbers don't seem to add up to quick cars. Besides, as far as Class, Style, all around performance for your $$$, what can beat a Camaro?
