cel code P2177 P2179

I installed a K n N intake pro aircharger 63 series ( plastic black tube). Since my install I had gotten a cel. I have two guys who have intakes check the fittings n all is secure. I also cleaned the air mass flow module and also taken out fuses 5 n 20. I have driven the car the for about four hundred miles and the cel has not gone away. Any advise...?

Take the K&N off put your stock back on and the CEL's will go away.
For some reason the K & N intake will Set a CEL on some cars.

P2177 is system to lean off idle bank 1
P2179 is system to lean off idle bank 2

No, the K&N is what is causing the problem trade it for a CAI .

I experienced the exact same cel. This is not a serious problem. Oil used in the K&N filter bleeds onto your MAF causing a a low reading which causes a lean condition on one or both banks. The car will run fine just don't race it. Take out the MAF and spray clean using electronic cleaner. The cel will soon go away after 50-60 miles of driving. Don't put any K&N oil on your filter, keep it dry. The cel comes on when the engine is not completely warmed up where a richer condition is required and you give it throttle. The cel went out on mine no harm no foul. Remember the dealer will refuse to fix.

Thanks, I will give this a try before I reinstall my stock.

Also, you should clean your MAF sensor carefully if you are getting this code.
