A good deal on a SS 1LE

I worked with a dealer and got the price of a 2016 Hyper Blue 1SS with Mag Shocks and dual mode exhaust down to $35,500. In the process of negotiations I looked a lot deeper at a 2017 SS 1LE. Some dealers I talked with didn't have any allocation for an LE. Another wants a $2000 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit.

No discount from MSRP.

Should I just keep looking for a dealer that will deal? I do like the LE MUCH better than the 1SS, but $9000? Wow.

Maybe I'm just not a good negotiator...

Have you guys found better deals?

Thanks!

It's highly unlikely you'll get a 2017 1SS 1LE anywhere near 35,500 on the first year and this early on in the run. You talked them way down on a 2016 1SS, so that 9000.00 is very skewed on range based on what comes with a 1LE over a 1SS only and that it's a blow out from last year's model.

Dealers are slamming out fully loaded 2SS, auto, with nav, sunroofs, NPP, etc. for around and below 40,000.00 for the 2016 models -- which is almost 10K off their MSRP when new.

More than happy to help you out if you don't mind a few hour flight and a nice drive back to Texas.

At the very least any dealer should do supplier/educator if you qualify. If not join Costco and you can get the same. I have a friend who is good friends with my dealers GM, and got me the best deal I've read about so far. Sticker on mine is $45,700 and after discounts and such I will be paying $41,721. He will honor any monthly incentives, rebates, etc too. I hope to be at or close to $41,000 before taxes and fees...

Don't expect many, if any left over SS 1LE's next year...

That's what I'm talking about! I'm not looking to match the price of the 2016, but I am looking for a reasonable discount!

Sore subject with me.

I had a GT350R on order with deposit. Same dealer I bought my ST and my wife's Edge Sport.

In May, my salesman called me and said his General Manager had decided they wanted MSRP + $27.5k. I walked.

I refuse to pay $1 above MSRP. EVER.

Becky gave me a fair price with no BS.

If your Ford dealer offered you a GT350R for $1 over MSRP, it would be in your driveway right now.

I'm calling BS on an allocation; this isn't a model. It's an add-on to the 1SS. That's the equivalent to the dealer saying they don't have an allocation for adding magnetic shocks o dual-mode exhaust.

Exactly, all you need is an allocation of an SS and you can order one with the 1LE package.

A1Y (1LE) package has it's own constraints and allocations.

Just because a dealer can order a SS doesn't mean they can order a 1LE.

I stand corrected. I understand constraints but having a 1LE allocation is dumb (just my opinion)

Why? It is not a simple option like a stereo upgrade, or different wheels. It has lots of content that all must be available. Including mechanical changes over an SS.

It's no more difficult than any other option if you get your suppliers to make sure they can provide the needed amount of parts. Which piece of the package do you find is difficult to produce for the amount of these that will actually be ordered?

Recaro makes the seats and they are a huge company
Brembo makes the brakes and I'll bet the caliper is a parts bin design for them
The cooling is all the same I believe
The wheels should be able to be made without constraint except for unforeseen circumstances
The elsd and suspension bits should be able to be machined pretty easy
The body pieces should be able to be injection molded pretty easy.
Goodyear can make enough tires

Yes there is a lot to come together but I don't see any exotic materials or anything. Like I said, I understand a constraint for an unforeseen circumstance but there aren't going to be THAT MANY people that will be special ordering the 1LE package. I stand by my opinion that the package should be able to be special ordered by any walk in customer if the dealer has an SS allocation and there are no current constraints.
