Checking in from the Metro DC - Hello!

Been lurking for a few months while I researched the best way to have a mid-life crisis and suffice to say I am absolutely smitten with the SS1 1LE.

Currently on the hunt for the right one (I have a preference for silver as love the contrast with the black) and want to get in one before the 2019's arrive for no other reason that I'm impatient. Also, I think the 2019 looks wrong.

My test drive was an absolute eye-opener. I'm originally from the UK where there exists the old stereotype that American cars just don't handle...

...while we should never let the truth get in the way of a good old across-the-pond banter match, this car was brilliant and I still can't believe that something like this exists at a circa $40K price point.
I drove its obvious competitors, and some that are several price-classes higher and the Camaro was the only car that I felt I was sitting IN rather than ON and I just felt connected to it - my kids rode in the back with massive grins on their faces the whole time...!

Hope to be able to check back in soon with one sitting on my driveway and will leave you all with a "thank you" - the discussions here seem open and moderate and actually helped persuade me to try the Camaro out. I'm really glad I did. My wife less so...

Also, if anyone knows of a Silver SS1 1LE that needs a good home I'm ready to adopt. If anyone has advice on out-of-state buying and bring home to VA, I'd be open to hear it.

Thank you,
A

Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5/6. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives', husbands, girlfriends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!

Update:
Didn't get silver...
during my search, I hadn't really clocked NFG - not sure if I simply had it written off as a color choice as it didn't "pop" in photos as much as others, but once I saw it in person I was sold.

babying this thing through her break-in period.
Sto n sho, LED side markers, ZL1 add-on rock guards and mishimoto catch-can to be installed in the coming days.

Looking at options around paint protection also.

Cheers!
