Trunk Keeps Opening - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

At random, I'll go outside to my car and the trunk will be open (not all the way, but unlocked). The remote seems to be working fine, and when it’s not open,I have to put normal pressure on the button to open it. WTF? Is anyone else having this problem?

Yeah the remote button gets pushed when in my pocket. It has happened a few times.

........but the prob is starting to piss me off. I keep stuff back there.

Also I never got a cargo net, was that spose to be standard on all models?

its fairly sensitive, Ill be working on the house and hear the car beep,
when i was waxing it and cleaniing the wheels the trunk unlocked as well.

I call user error on this i think it happened to alot of us.

It's freaking strong too. I just tested it and it works from like 1000 ft away! Well at least 500....

I've noticed this too, and I can't figure out if I'm actually pushing something or if it's opening by itself.

You might try laying your keys on a desk/counter in your house or at work, where they won't be touched.... then go out & check it periodically to see if it's opened. That should tell you if it's you touching the remove without knowing it or if there's something wrong all together.

Had that problem all the time with my 2000 Monte Carlo. Just a slight touch in the pocket would unlock the trunk.
Now, my '06 you have to hold the trunk button down several seconds to activate it. Why would they not keep the delay???
