F-35 cam dyno number help

I recently installed a F35 tsp cam and it only made 450 at the wheels. I'm pretty concerned about this. I was hoping for 500
Should I be concerned?

What did it dyno before the cam?
Doubtful you will get 500 with stock heads depending on the dyno.

That's pretty much what the tuner told me 2
It made 430 so I'm only up 20hp which doesn't seem right.
What did your car make with the f35 and bolt ons?

My car is hard to compare. Th400 swap
When I ran the F35 I also had PRC 260 heads and made 479rwhp. Again that was through a th400. I figure it would have made 520 if it had still been a manual.

I was also looking into this cam the other day to try to get to my goal of 500rwhp on stock heads with my LOD X-1 intake. I called TSP yesterday and chatted with them on what I was running now, their stage 3 cam, 231/246@112lsa and what it made at the wheels thru a auto with a 4200 stall, 475rwhp, and he told me that this F35 cam probably would not net me much more than 5-8 more rwhp over what I have now and would not be worth the money and effort to do. He also said what I was making thru an auto with a big stall was akin to the fact that all my performance mods were working well together!! And that there are those rare occasions that happens. Felt good to hear, I did something right. He also said that if I wanted to get to my "goal" the stage 3 I have would get me there, just need a good set of heads to do it. I also told him that we pulled the dyno run out to 7500 and it was still making power. So I guess a set of PRC 260 heads might be next, or I might just leave well enough alone. Butif you are a manual car, I think you should be higher than 450, at least 470..

So at the least I'm down 20hp. I'll probably check compression. I used the 7.400 pushrods that cam with the kit with .060 preload it seemed to add up. if the cam was off a tooth the tuner would've picked it up. Andrew is one of the best in the business . He said it runs and drives great.
Maybe I'm just being paranoid

I am also running the 7.400 pushrods with my cam. So yea I have seen where some guys have even hit around 480rwhp with this cam on stock heads, and modded intake with a good tune. Maybe he did a "conservative" tune on yours.

If it was off a tooth you'd bend some valves.

Well it must not be off a tooth then. Lol
He thinks it needs more air flow and recommended a roto fab cai and porting the heads.
I agree the heads will help but it doesn’t change the fact of being below average for my set up
One thing I am wondering about is I run amzoil zrod 10w30. With 20deg nights it may have been a little thick

Still running the stock airbox? I would also recommend relocating the washer reservoir, or install Vararam DRX cai that has a new one in the kit and relocates it.
Was it a dynojet or Mustang Dyno? SAE corrected?

No, I have a BBK intake tube with a cone style amzoil dry filter
It’s a dynojet corrected

What rpm is your limiter set to? Did your hp drop before it? How much advance did he put in?

Numbers arn’t everything, how does the car run? If it moves the f#$k out then I wouldn’t worry about it.... a dyno is just a tool.
