Boost level quention

So, how much boost would you guys feel is safe running in these motors with 93 octane only? LS3, L99 motors in particular. E85 was everywhere here, but a couple stations have stopped carrying it, so worried its gonna eventually dry up. I know even low boost can kill a motor, so I understand no guarantees here. Will be remotely tuning with Ted Jannetty when I do this. My compression is a bit higher than stock mind you, with the GPI max kit. I believe its close to 11-1. I'm thinking with a good tune, I could run 10 psi max. Thoughts?

I think a better approach is targeting a power level instead of boost. If I recall correctly, Ted has posted that 650ish is as far as he likes to take the stock bottom end.

Lots of others going way past that though

With the GPI Max, you aren't going to need as much boost because of how well everything flows. That said, the extra compression gives you less room for error.

If you have a spot on tune, I would personally send it. Fortune favors the bold I always say.

Ok boost is the restriction to flow.A stock Camaro with stock cam and heads might have more boost from a certain supercharger then a modified motor with better flowing heads and a bigger cam.
But which one do you think will make the most power??

So you really can’t go by boost unless everything is the same.
Now ted or someone else who has worked on or had a similar setup might be able to give you a close number.

With a higher flowing, higher compression setup, id agree. 10psi is good max level. It should make more power per psi than other setups. You should be happy with it. Why over do it? Ted will get it right.

What method of boost are you considering? Looks like a potent combo already

Centri. Spoke to Ryan at GPI and he said the max cam will work great with a centri. So probably an ESS system

Can never go wrong when you add any power adder, especially FI. Boost juice is addicting

That should be very impressive, thinking about the standard blower they sell with their kit or upgrading to a larger one

I'm thinking of going larger. G3x most likely. Still in the researching stage. My car wont be out on the road until mid-April at best. We got pounded with snow this year and the roads are a mess with cinders. So I have some time yet. Got to do the fuel system as well, cringing on that one lol
