How many of you Avalanche owners have used the mid gate multiple times? I remember when they first came out. I was working at a Chevy dealer and they had a rep come out to demonstrate the features to us salesmen. I fell in love right away. I wish I could afford one. Always wondered how often the mid gate would get used, though.

I had a 2008 Chevy Avalanche. Then I saw a fully loaded 2010 Z71 Avalanche. So I traded the '08 for the '10!! I was towing a 18 foot boat at the time. I loved the SUV feel with a pickup truck when you needed it!! The mid gate was easy to put down and back. The whole time owning both Avalanches I was attracted to the Camaro. Finally one day I decided to sell the boat and trade the '10 Avalanche for a '11 V6 Camaro!! Seven months later traded to a '12 Camaro SS!!

I currently have an '07 Avalanche and a '09 Traverse. I just ordered a '13 Camaro 2SS and will be trading in the Traverse when it comes in. So I will be one of those with an Avalanche and a Camaro.

By the way, I LOVE the Avalanche. I use it with/without the bed cover all the time, tow frequently, and I do use the midgate quite often. Best vehicle I have ever owned, honestly!

Avalanche, Avalanche...Oh yeah that's the truck thing with all the plastic cladding. I like to call them the Chevy Tupperware Edition. I hear they are dishwasher safe.

We had a 2003 until October 2012 when someone hit the wife head on and Totaled it. She loved that truck, it was excellent condition with low miles(41000). I think it saved her from death or serious injury. She loved the yellow color and 2003 was the only year they made it.

I had a 2007 and 2009 Z71. Loved them. But had to go to a 2500 for towing. Loved my Avalanches !

It's interesting to note that GM had developed a fully powered Midgate for the Envoy XUV in 2004. I was fully expecting that to make it into the Avalanche at some point, but...nope.

I had one and my transmission started slipping with 45,000 miles on it. The only reason I ditched it was it was off warranty. So I ended up with my dream car. I miss my Avalanche but do not regreat getting my Camaro.

Funny you started a thread on this because I was dead set on getting an avalanche until I realized that the concept Camaro was basically the same as production (usually never happens when cool concept cars come out but does not translate into the production cars)

A perfect example is the Volt, we all know how that ugly disaster turned out.

One day I will own an avalanche!

I had an 03' Avalanche until it was totaled. Loved it and always had the mid gate open and the back seat folded down. The Camaro replaced it.
