Just joined the Camaro club!!

Last Friday I purchased a 2012 Camaro LT RS and I must say I absolutely love it. I have a quick question, what is the top speed for this model?? One of my friends told me 118 is the tops but looking around on the net, I see anywhere from 118 to 140. Just curious because I'm really not a speed demon. Thanks in advance!

Welcome! They are great cars. I feel like I'm driving the road version of a B1 Lancer.

The SS is 155 mph governed. I've had mine routinely up to 135mph.

Ungoverened I've heard somewhere around 175.

But, I can't speak for the LT. I'd bet more than 118 though.

If you have the RS then you should be 155+. It all depends on your tires and yours should have the speed rating of 155+. I know the stock 18's on my 1LS have the speed rating only up to 118.

Only one way to find out!

Congrats on the new ride!

Does it have anything done to it? And are you planning anything yet?

CONGRATS on the ride, and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wive's, husbands, girlfirends and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy.

oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here.

Welcome!!
