The Z/28 may come in at 3,700 lbs or so. The only thing I've heard is that the 2014 has an aluminum trunk lid.

approximately 350 lbs lighter than a ZL1, about 100 lbs lighter than an SS. About the same weight as a V6.

ZL1= 4120 lbs
SS = 3850 lbs
LS, LT = 3730 lbs

Z/28= estimated 3750 lbs.

all cars based on coupe models with manual transmission.

If you get the Recaro racing seats they are 3 pounds lighter.

Except the Z/28 weight hasn't been officially announced yet.

Yes but considering its cleft chin, lack of radio, and optional A/C amongst other things its 70K + price tag they wanted to make sure it was as rare as a pacer with a blower sighting. They lightened it with the loss of sound deadener and thinner rear window glass and loss of nice comfort daily driver type amenities like a radio, and stuff like carbon fiber or what ever brake rotors etc that most people would never buy except for their McLaren.... or lamborgini.... And then they priced it sky high to show how much they think the 427 engine in a Camaro is worth. A total fail if you ask most of us as we will never buy one, let alone want to drive it for a daily driver, and most of the general public will never see one even less than a zl1.
But by god it can handle..........for 3700 lbs, or buy a retro aftermarket cobra and fill the trunk with money and 1000 lbs of weight to try to make it a even race...........

If I could afford a Z/28 - I'd drive it every day of the week. Rain or shine.

I never could understand calling something a "Total Fail" just because you can't afford it ... By that theory, there must be a lot of fail products on the market.

Let's face it some of wanted a muscle car. No radio, no A/C even with a heater delete. Those were the days in the 60's and 70's. not this new generation with my link, back up camaras and all the rest of the added crap most put on cars these days. That being said I would have bought one in a heartbeat if I could've got a '13 , because the refresh is a fail IMO.
