Paint mismatch (plastic and sheet metal)
Has anyone had warranty work done in regards to their front/rear bumpers and fuel door being repainted as they are more than somewhat discolored compared to the metal body parts of the car?
My dealer is saying that GM won't allow them to take care of this under warranty and I'm starting to get a more than somewhat perturbed that my car (which granted I could have been under the allure of buying an amazing new car and didn't notice it then) is now two different shades of white. Any help is appreciated. |

Do a search,....apparently it is not all that uncommon since the body was painted at a different station and time.
Also the paint for the plastic is a different formulation in that it is pliable. I think it is more evident on the lighter colors, although my IBM has a slight difference if the light is just rite. |

Wow...this has never been discussed before.
Please do a search for "mismatch", etc. Lots of threads on this. |

http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...light=mismatch This is the only thread that relates to mine (though you're welcome to point in the direction of others), and he never followed up on it. I'm not talking about the angular issue that makes paint appear different colors. I also understand the cause for the issue which is why I didn't ask as to why. I was asking if anyone has any knowledge of anything being done with regards to warranty work doing anything to make it look any less noticeable. |
