I hear what your saying but the auto shifter is held on with 1 screw and the plate itself is held on with 4 screws and some clips that pop right off... all in all it was extremely easy to remove/replace
If he wanted to send the shifter plate off too it really wouldnt be hard to remove - just might be a little "unsightly" to drive around like that The part that I had painted was core'd however I still have my original shifter plate (PRNDS) sitting in my garage so if he wants to send his to be painted I'd be more than happy to lend him mine until his comes back (just a thought) Let me know if you need any help pulling any pieces - been more than happy to lend a hand or walk anyone through it

shipped out everything today, but i think that shift boot is better... i don,t know what would be involved in pulling lenses for the shift lights and the prndm would not be accented...but maybe next time we meet, you can bring your old one and we can look at it and decide whether to paint or boot it...george can decide then..how come your first pic does not have boot?

Mike - I totally agree the boot looks better (which is why I went that route) - I got the boot from ChevyPartsPlus (i think), it's the manual boot and bolts right in the existing holes
Not sure how that piece would come out painted plus I was never a big fan of the shape and how it kinda bulges up and looks out of place so I went with the boot... I actually got the painted piece in a couple days before the boot and installed it anyway since I have very little patience to wait for things lol... The boot came like 2 days later and I just removed everything (again) and bolted everything back together... I'll definately bring it to the next meet so any of the a6 guys can look at how it attaches or even borrow it if they want to send theirs for paint Looking forward to the next meet - you guys coming down to the Hardrock on the 15th?

Yeah I like it. I just bought the Fesler one which I believe is the same should have all of the rest of my upgrade within two weeks and everything in my closet will be installed before the next meet hopefully when I can finally make it. Mike that first Center piece/ Gauge Surround looks awesome I hope you get it and I would love to see it in person along with your car.
