Was the factory Hurst shifter shorter?

Hi all,

I have ordered a NOS OEM Hurst shift knob and boot as mine is all flaking and old.

I mean GM part #24257863, that you could just order... not specifically the shifter in a factory Hurst Camaro

As my factory shifter is... the normal one... were Hurst shifters shorter? ie) Do I also now need to order a shortened Hurst shifter?

I don't mind the stock shifter, it's fine. I'll order a new one if I have to, but if I don't, I wont.

I should mention that my car is the M6 stick shift version not the automatic.

Looks like the shift assembly was 24257312.

Is there a parts lookup to what cars contained this part number from factory? I am not in the US so getting Holden parts would be a lot easier for me than getting Camaro ones.
