helping a friend
a friend of mine just did some trading and got a 2010 ss auto camaro with 20k miles, he is new to the car but loves it and he wants to change the exhaust for a good sounding bolt on kit, what would most of you suggest he get? he kinda likes my npp but i understand it will not fit a auto. does not want crazy loud, just a good tone.. thanks

If not crazy loud I would suggest he look into Solo Exhaust! Sounds great.
Here's a link. Even has a video of an automatic: http://solo-performance.com/pe-mach-xl-jpipes-auto |

He could also just do a muffler delete.

The muffler delete may drone for a automatic.

But he doesn't really want loud so muffler delete might be too much. Well I don't know how loud/quiet it sounds on automatic with that huge resonator so it might be alright.
He could keep stock exhaust and get highflow cats. Increased performance and better sound.

I did the Flowmaster Force II Axel Back exhaust. I like the way it sounds & get a lot of comments on how good my car sounds

Solo Mach XL is perfect and designed for the auto. Not much louder than stock unless to stomp on it then it opens up. No drone

Muffler delete will be perfect. On an auto, you can barely tell the difference. My wife never even noticed when I did mine. Cost about $100. Any muffler shop can do it.

Don't waste money on a catback if that's all you will ever do.
It won't be loud enough. Like others have said if you are running stock headers and cats these cars don't need mufflers.
