That could be really interesting. I am, of course, assuming something a lot less expensive than either of the vehicles mentioned. |

Do you know if GM has a Trademark on "Chevelle" still?
We dont need another Cavalier any more than we need another Chevette..

I had a blue and silver Z24 5-Speed. It was a blast to drive. But yea, I hate the name. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Likely just renewing their trademark so that nobody else can swoop in and steal the name. I don't know why anyone else would want to use it seeing as GM decided to rename the Cavalier to Cobalt more than a decade ago because that name was so damaged. Then they did the same thing to Cobalt with Cruze, which is now accepted as being a decent car.
I think they renewed their trademark on Chevelle sometime in the last few years, and it threw everyone into a tizzy because people thought GM was going to be bringing it back. But there hasn't been the slightest indication from GM that they're considering a new Chevelle. No concept cars, no talk of a car like the Chevelle existing, no prototypes seen running around ... nothing.

Sometimes trademark renewals mean something...sometimes they don't. Remember starting in ...oh..2009 when everyone was "sure" that Dodge was bringing back the Cuda because they renewed the trademark on it?
Every year we've been hearing about how it's "coming out next year as a replacement for the Challenger"...still nothing. However, GM did renew Z/28 in 2010..for the car that was to become the ZL1. |

Speaking of Detroit, what's speculated as of now...
Sunday: Buick press conference, hopefully not just Envision. Monday: Chevrolet press conference, Cruze Hatchback, maybe others Tuesday: GMC press conference, 2017 Acadia.
