Simple gear shifting question

Quick simple question .. when going in between gears ..would it "hurt" my Z if I maxed out 2nd before shifting to 3rd and 3rd before 4th. ( and by maxing I mean getting the RPMs high)

Thanks

Feel free to rev out all gears up to 6200ish. In stock form that's the RPM that is both approaching the rev limiter and passing the peak of the power curve. No it won't harm anything.

Although, avoid going above 6300 (I believe it is) or the car will hit the limiter, make a sad noise, and you'll feel like an idiot :P . Bouncing on first gear spins is one thing, but there's no point in taking 3rd or 4th to the limiter IMO.

What the other members have said...The only thing that you need to be concerned with is to be sure that the rear wheels are not spinning when changing gears in the higher rpm's, the tranny doesn't like that very much...Your car loves the high rpm shifts that what it was built for and that's when it's most exciting to drive...

Don't take it past 6200 on stock valve springs or you will get serious valve float.. Happened to me but I was lucky the pistons and heads were not damaged and only the valves needed replacing

Do you have dyno sheet? I wouldn't hit the rev limiter. Look at your dyno and check where you stop making power. Over reving your enigine sound nice but doesn't get you anywhere. I would shift right when your power start dropping.
