Broken hearted, may have to go Challenger
Sorry to say it, but the Camaro is just a little to high priced for my budget. No dealers want to make a deal so I may have to get a challenger. My sister in law is a CFO for multiple dealerships including a Dodge dealer ( no Chevy dealers ) so I can get an R/T nicely equipped for around $30k out the door. I really had my heart set on a Camaro, but I can't afford the extra $10K.

Why are you going to pay 40K for a Camaro? You in Canada or something?

Clovis, CA? If so, you can't find a better dealer even somewhat locally?...

That is truely sad since all the $ you'd save on the car will be spent on gas since they get such horrible gas mileage.

Too bad it couldn't work out for you but the Challenger R/T is a nice car. Enjoy it but most importantly, thanks for sticking to American!

You can get a 2LT RS fully loaded for less than that almost as quick but will get 29 Vs 22 mpg and insurance should be much less. If you go with an 1SS bare and get any sort of discount College grad supplier military it would just be slightly higher.

edit: Just realized this is post 1100 for me, and my pre-order status is at 1100. I think(hope) that this will be a once in a lifetime thing, and this is the last time my post count will match my car status.

Challengers are nice and all - but I would go down to a 1SS without the RS package before I would switch to a Challenger.

I have already had a talk with the Chevy dealer just down the street from the Pontiac dealer I turn wrenches in. All I want is a 1SS, since other things seem frivolous to me on such a car. Granted I'll be getting employee pricing, but a 1SS that is fairly equally equipped to an R/T shouldn't be more than 32k before TTL.
