Yes, it's Chip, goes by Hightower here on Camaro5, but he's in school at Statesboro, so it's hard to catch him up here in Atlanta. PM him.

I've been trying, but so far not much luck.

The MTI event at AMP might help. We had a pretty good turnout just before the track opened when we set up the cookout up there.

I will be happy to talk about it when I'm up there either this week or next waiting on my car. Should be hearing from Kevin today and then will be setting up the appointment.
My last time there (march) it was cold and raining....still a lot of fun though.

Where to begin....

- $$
- time
- cooperating ga weather
- brakes and tires to replace worn out ones after track day ( see also $$)

I'd love to go out there one day though.

As Road Racing goes, I am struggling to learn the heel and toe technique. Without any formal instruction I have tried a couple of different things and the only way that feels somewhat natural is heel on brake and toe on gas. Even then it's really awkward.
Anyone care to offer some advice before I develop another bad habit?

I've seen videos like that! Pretty cool with the no lift shifts, and some shifts where they just let off the gas slightly! Rusty Wallace was very good at those moves!!!

No lift shifts in this car get owned by torque management

Been there done that. It's hell getting my foot up to the shift paddle

As for this car, the brake pedal seems uneven from the gas, and I cant seem to contort my ankle to the gas like the pros.

Does anyone actually do this with the stock pedals, or does something need to be modified? Maybe I need red shoes!

Or maybe I sit too far forward. I just set the seat all the way back and it feels like I have better range to roll my ankle.

becoming a heal tow hero won't happen overnight. to be frank you don't really need to know how. in your car (or anything with torque) you could just do the whole track in 4th. don't let it keep you off the track. the guys that are heal towing are trying to get every last drop of speed out of the car. beginners is just out to have fun.

if you want to come out to a chin event. i can jump in the car and give you some pointers.

I may take you up on that. Right now the only thing keeping me from Chin is the cost. When you add entry fees, instructor and insurance it gets a bit pricey for two days.

They do make heel-toe peddles. I got a set like the black ones at this link; http://www.srpracing.com/pd_camaro_2...ing_pedals.cfm I painted my stipes white to match the car. Red shoes can't hurt. Red = Fast
