Service tyre monitor system
This error came up while I was on a long trip, it went away after I stopped but just came back up while I’m on the return trip. What do I need to do to fix this problem? It is showing that it is not detecting the psi in the front right tyre

Same for me. It comes and goes and gets worse when the temperature drops low. The batteries are just getting weak and close to dying as I am running on the OEM sensors.
I will have all my sensors replaced this summer, which is the only solution as the batteries are not serviceable.

Ok cool, thanks for the help. Are they expensive? Or is it something I can replace myself? Just wanted to make sure my tyre wasn’t going to explode on the expressway lol

Amazon has them for around $25 each. RockAuto shows the correct part # 13598772 (Based on GM Parts Direct) at $39.89 each. Don't forget mounting and rebalancing charges of course, as this is something the tire shop will need to do as they are located inside the wheel/tire...Unless you have a tire mounting/balancing setup.
GM Parts Direct shows the correct part # as 13598772. That does not match the Amazon part number, but if you cross reference on Rock Auto, it shows that the Amazon part # of 13581558 is an alternate part number for 13598772. Is it exactly the same quality and frequency? I don't know yet. But they are both AC Delco branded parts. Hopefully someone else that has had this done recently can confirm the correct part number or a working, quality aftermarket part. Also, if you don't know the age of the sensors currently installed or if they are still the OEM sensors, I would recommend replacing all 4 at the same time. Especially since yours would be over 10 years old now and the others are likely on borrowed time. Anytime I get the TPMS warning I check the tires just to make sure something else isn't going on, although I know it is likely the sensor. Doesn't hurt to be extra safe and cautious. https://www.amazon.com/ACDelco-13581.../dp/B00O9H0QIG https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/...)+sensor,12036 https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-pa...Y4LWdhcw%3D%3D

Used I didn't even realize until you asked. I've had them 6 months no issues.

Yeah man, a set of 4 for less than $50 is my kind of deal. Thanks for the heads up.

At a huge discount, who knows how long they have been sitting around? The cost of remounting and balancing suggests that you should buy the sensors from a reliable source. My policy is, when it's time to replace the tires, I replace the sensors. |
