My Cam Only Camaro SS vs a Cam Only 1/LE - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

This is from the Shift S3ctor half mile event this last weekend (24th & 25th)

My car has a CMS custom grind cam, Kooks long tubes, a CAI intake, and GM 3.91 gears, Mickey Thompson 305/35/20 drag radials. My car makes 483rwhp on a single roller loaded mustang dyno

1/LE has a cam, headers, intake, Nitto drag radials (and factory 3.91's). His car makes 465rwhp

This was off a tree, from a dig, for a flat out 1/2 mile (exactly 2,640 feet)

Not sure if he's on this forum, I would assume he is since he had 1/LE badges and stuff on his car, and it seemed to be tastefully modded like some of those in the 1/LE section of this forum.

I pulled ahead of him in 1st gear, chirped into 2nd, and continued to grow my lead the whole time. Good video regardless; both our cars sound great screaming down the runway at WOT.

Shoutout to Cunningham Motorsports, only shop I'd ever trust to touch my car, drove to and from the airstrip (412 mile round trip), ran flawlessly.
Anyone in California should go to their shop for their build/tune.

Nice video. Turned out about as expected. Your car benefits more from the 3.91s with the different gearing that the TR6060 has in the SS and you had slightly more power.

Did he have trouble launching? I race my buddy's 1le all the time and we are usually neck and neck. Whoever gets the jump wins. Nice race though.

Thanks guys. I'm pretty good at launching on the mickey thompsons (had 20psi in them this pass) from a dig on the "street" (which essentially is what this airstrip is) but it wouldn't have really made that much difference anyways, my car pulls hard up top and continued to grow the lead each shift.

Owner was really cool though, nice guy. I think next event in April, we'll both be back with more power.
