I don't think BMW, or Mercedes for that matter, make cars that are any better than most on the roads today. Old stereotypes are hard to shake. I have heard time and time again that my "yank tank" Mustang must be flimsy and poorly built, but the truth is, both of the Gts I've had in 5 years have been faultless. I would imagine your Camaro is more exclusive at the moment than say a BMW 320i, and way way more attractive to look at.
And by the time you've loaded a German car with gadgets and goodies, you can add half as much again to the price of the car. Do your thing and enjoy.

I could of got a Beamer, but after the warranty is up I would of had to sell it since I would not be able to afford to get anything done.

Let's not forget that the Camaro is actually built in Canada .

Joking aside; since the near collapse of the North American Auto industry, build quality has gone through the roof. Couldn't be more impressed with the lineups from GM, Ford, et al.

My personal experience with my Camaro has been outstanding (granted I only have about 9000k so far). My personal issues have been:

-the Tire Pressure Monitor gives me grief once in a while - wish it wasn't there. That's nothing exclusive to GM or any maker, though.
-the ipod connectivity is suspect; most newer apple devices don't work that great but after reading up on the forum here I bought a used 4th gen nano to throw in the console and it works flawlessly.

Consumer Reports just rated Camaro as Recommended because enough data came back showing good initial quality. This is a very good sign.

I have owned both a BMW and Mercedes and they both had electrical problems....plus its never a good day when the dreaded"check engine light" comes on. In those cars, everything is connected electrically; even the windows had issues when the radio did! havent had one issue with my camaro so far....!

Tell me about it, a young girl driving a SAAB gave me a thumbs up and my wife caught me smirking. that sure was some major car related trouble!

My 3 friends all had expensive electrical problems after the 3 year mark as well. One actually had a major engine problem. I can ignore that as an outlier, but all 3 people having electrical problems is enough to make me want to stay away from the brand until I can afford to replace the car every 3 years or less.

They are nice cars, latest technology; but in the end I want a fast sports car and that indash navigation or massaging seats ain't gunna make my car go faster!

Yes, you are. And isn't there a glacier on the 'interior of Alaska' ? You drive your Camaro on a glacier?

Thanks for all your feedback guys, much appreciated. I've had my Camaro for not too long now, and now trouble so far. Im very happy. Also, am I the only one who thinks Beamers aren't all that attractive? sure they are up there in the technology department, but apart from some, the exterior on most of them isnt eye-catching, jaw-dropping, pitch-a-tent kinda looks like the Camaro, or is that just me? :P
