Unfortunately the doors cycle open closed every time you get in or out of the car.

I got it all together. Question. How to recalibrate the Actuator? I read it does by itself and also read to pull a fuse. I see for HVAC its fuse F5 by the steering wheel and 42 under-hood.

Wow what a pain in the *ss. I think taking and installing the duct was harder.

Perhaps the actuators are defective and turn the door too far?

Well, from the pics it looks like the same exact part as the old one. I don't see anything that's been beefed up on the new one.

I'm not pulling the front windshield if I can help it. Yeah, if I get a crack or a major rock chip on the highway, then you have to replace it. However, having to replace a perfectly fine $400+ OEM factory windshield for a $15 dollar blend door part is stupid crazy.

I'd rather just take apart the dash. Just my opinion.
i have tried to help a few people with this. that video shows that you can cut off the bottom of the long bolts and that allows you to remove them with the windshield in the car i have been there and done it works like a charm i used a air saw not a grinder. youtube can be helpful or hurt.
i didn't mean to start a argument with GR8one so this is my last post on the subject from here out it will be my little secret.

Dealer says they pull the neg off the battery to reset the doors Or use their Tech 2 scanner. Your car sweeps them every time you get in or out of the car anyway, only GM knows why. I guess looking for a fault to run you to the dealer? My best guess. Just open the door and listen, You can hear them sweeping back and forth. Crazy stuff really, can't make stuff like this up. If mine ever breaks the blend door down below I'm reinforcing the new door with a metal wrap screws and JB weld before it goes back in.

If you really want answers call GM or a dealer.

So I've seen most of the threads on this issue and on the failing heaters cores. So it sounds from what I gather, either way your screwed. To prevent the door from breaking, pull the fuse and have zero HVAC control or function. And to help prevent the heater core from going bad, make sure you cycle the the heat every now and then. Am I missing something?

Ya know I did hear a slight 5sec motor whine sound after closing the door before inserting the key. The noise happens soon after the dome light goes off. Happens with temp setting either low or high. Sound also seems to happen when driver door is opened with key out but is harder to hear.

The sound seems to be coming from behind the tach/speedo not from down where the blend door is, maybe it’s the sound waves coming from the blend door thru the duct going to the driver side air vent?

You can hook up an interrupt switch, or relay to prevent that. You would
only want the actuator motor to have power when the car is in the RUN
position, so you put a relay in so there is only power when the car is in
the RUN position so it does not cycle unnecessarily.

He does not have them facing the same direction, so you can't tell, but the
one on the right looks like there is a bigger plastic gusset at the top, and a
larger barrel at the bottom. His mistake is not showing them both side by
side, one side, and the other side to compare. He decided to post the old
one, then the new one the wrong way.

If you zoom in, you can see the GM part number. They're both the same. I don't know, would GM make a change and keep the same part number?

what i'm going to do now is just set them to my face and feet and put some tape over the button so they cant be messed with.i never drive my car in the rain or and cold weather so hopefully will be ok.
like there has been 100's of thousands of our cars produced and only a handful of problems.
every car ever created has issues..you go n the s550 forum and you'll realise our cars really have almost no issues at all
