There's not much of a grille to speak of, is there?

That's a speed I have no need to see

After several attempts at slightly above 199mph, David Freiburger just ran 202.67 mph in the same Lingenfelter ZL1 Camaro that was the first in the 10s. This is the first ZL1 over 200. It boasts 720 horsepowers.

Thanks to our friends at Continental/General Tire Proving Grounds at Uvalde, TX and to the team at Lingenfelter Performance Engineering.

again just because the math works out on paper doesn't make it so. we need video proof of a gt500 going 200+ mph. out side and inside. and we need to know it's a 13 GT500. I think you're missing the point. Too many of you guys, maybe not you, but a lot of the GT500/Ford guys do come on here and said we need proof with out side and inside video. but yet when said we need proof we're told to trust the math. sorry. doesn't work like that. Can't call BS on one thing and then post numbers and quote as gospel on another.

congrats on lingenfelter getting the camaro in the 200 mph club. and sorry for detracting from their thread. Just tired of the SVT guys coming on here detracting from anything good done by the ZL1.

All 5th Gen bugs go to heaven! What a way to go!!!! Can you imagine the bragging rights you'd have in heaven being done in by a ZL1 at 202 MPH!

i dont want to stur the pot but here are the calculated values for the ZL1 and the GT500. (somethings got to be off as they said the gt500 would hit 62 in first...).

Zl1
first 52.8
second 78.9
third 108.1
fourth 140.5
fifth 175.6
sixth 223.0

GT500
first 55.1
second 91.9
third 125.8
fourth 163.5
fifth 221.0
sixth 327.0

Zl1 will hit topspeed in 6th and gt500 in 5th...

Here are the values i found for each car.

ZL1
Redline 6200
Final drive 3.73
first 2.66
second 1.78
third 1.3
fourth 1
fifth 0.8
sixth 0.63

GT500
Redline 7000
Final drive 3.31
first 2.97
second 1.78
third 1.3
fourth 1
fifth 0.74
sixth 0.5

P.S. I still beleive that the ZL1 will do more than 180mph (manual) out in the wild... Will definitely try that at some point on the autobahn!

you may not be factoring in the 7000rpm over rev feature.
