ive seen a few builds over at ls1tech on TFS 255 LS3 vettes making between 500-510ish RWHP and about 460-470ish RWTQ. And thats without any milling. Straight out of the box. One of them if i remember correctly was with the LG Motorsports G6X3 cam. It was that car that initially got me on the TFS 255s

If you mill them, you'll definitely get a bit more. I m almost sure you're gonna get 5 - 10 more ft lbs of torque than me. The TFS have slightly smaller 255cc intake runners and on a stock cube LS3, that means a bit more torque than the 260cc intake runners the AFR's i got have. I just wanted MAX effort HP. I'll gear the **** out of the rear end to make my own torque emulation

Glad you got a big jump in power, how is the drivability. And noticed downsides to it yet? I am very curious to what increase I will get. How soon before you take it to the track?

honestly i drove it home 80 plus miles and the entire time i was paying attention to the vitals.

At 2000 RPMS in 6th gear going 75mph, oil pressure was right at the line between 30 and Max. At idle it was just a tick above 30. (idle speed is about 9xx ish rpms)

temperature was consistent at about 185 and got to 195 at the warmest when i hit traffic

I pushed it lightly getting on the freeway and it felt good

what i really liked is that i can still take off in 2nd from a red light. Car drives like stock. Good street manners. Has a rough idle and shakes at idle like any cammed car.

Awesome. Glad you like it so far. I love the cam I have now and can't wait to see the power increase with the heads. I will probably swing by the shop this week and see when the heads will be done. Hopefully they will be installed with the other mods next month

All the mods and numbers I currently have installed are in my signature. I just bought the Trick Flow GEN X 255 heads and was curious as to what I should have done to them before they get installed. Along with the heads, I will be doing a rod modded and ported GPI LS3 intake, flex sensor, bigger injectors and E-85

BTW, if your car is a 1LE, you're good to go as you already have the ZL1 pump. Otherwise you will need a ZL1 or CTSV fuel pump in addition to the injectors and flex fuelk kit/tuining to get E85 on a cammed 5th gen. The stock SS fuel pump will not be able to provide the extra fuel needed.

that means dropping exhaust, removing driveshaft, lowering rear subfframe, to do the job correctly. Unless you're gonna cut an access hole in the body under the rear seats

It's not a 1LE, the shop said we will most likely be able to do a boost-A-Pump

Talked with a few people and am going with the ZL1 fuel pump. Any update with yours?
My heads are in the shop now and they want to know how much to mill but I can not figure out what to do. Info I have:
Per Texas speed, with stock heads, the PTVC with my cam is 0.060 Intake and 0.110 exhaust. I am unsure how much you gain with the Trickflow heads so it is hard for me to figure it out. The shop who has my heads said the intake valve is .070" below the deck and the exhaust valve is .230" below the deck with the Trickflow heads

Factory LS3 heads the intake valve is only .025-.030 below the deck.

Doing LSA injectors and at the bare minimum, ZL1 pump later this year. My car was pulling timing because of the bump in compression and lack of octane (91 in California) so it definitely needs E85. Made 528RWHP a couple of weeks back on a dynojet (91 octane) and 470RWHP on the Mustang Dyno at the shop where the work was done the last week in March. Can probably get a little more average and peak with E85. The Rear cradle is going to come off so im doing solid cradle bushings as well.

You can mill those heads .030" and still have good enough clearance. (I did. My heads are AFR 260s but they have the same valve angle as the TFS heads you have) The valve angles allow for it. Always check you PTV clearance no matter what but you should be able to mill them aggressively without issue. I talked to TEA and they confirmed it. You can also talk to BTR and Tick performance as well. They've used those TFS 255s many times

Mill away and enjoy the increased CR.

Car is in the shop now. The guy doing the heads came to the shop yesterday, mocked up the Trick Flow heads, measured PTVC and determined milling 0.025 was the best to stay safe with my cam. Should be on the dyno next week, I can't wait
