How Much Diff Fluid ?

I purchased this car a few months ago and am slowly changing all the regular maintenance items . I am ready to do the diff. fluid , but am confused as to what the OM says . Is the capacity 1 quart total or 1 quart plus the 4 oz. of slip additive ? Thanks for the help !!!

Yup, that's right. I always get 2 qts because It (for me) always seems to take a bit more.

Pour in the slip modifier, then the gear oil until it starts pouring out. Filled.

Get yourself a good pump to pump the fluid in. They are like $10 in Amazon and I feel like it’s almost impossible without it. I changed mine twice within 10k miles and each time 1 at did the job I use the acdelco with modifier already in it.

When I did mine it also only took one bottle until it started leaking out the hole. And I had to use a pump as well.

Did mine yesterday . I did get a pump from Amazon as recommended . I put about a third of the fluid in , then opened and added the additive to the bottle and finished filling . Started running out just as bottle was empty .

Car 100% level.
Additive goes in FIRST.
Then pump fluid in till it starts to back out the fill.
Done.

Put the additive in first, then pump in the oil until it's put to the lip of the drain hole.

And yes, you need the additive even though the Delco oil is for LSD.

I just put a new rear differential in mine about a month ago. I used the ac delco additive and quart of oil. I put the additive in first then the other oil. I didn't buy a pump. I bought some clear tubing jammed in on the cone shaped top and squeezed it in the fill hole until it started coming out. It used it all.
