whats the real horse power
Iv been looking online and while i know chevy has caimed 426 horses and 420 lbs of torque ive been seeing alot of websites saying that it putting out 422hp and 408 lbs so whats the real number?

426 from Manual
400 from the Auto at the Fly wheel. Each car may vary a few HP at the wheels. |

ahh your right i wasnt thinking of the difference from the flywheel to the rear wheels. i should probably hit myself for wasing your time with this thread. sorry

There is a different Cam in the engines is the major difference. I beleive the heads and valves are a little different because of the Active Fuel Management in the auto. That would explain the difference at the flywheel for HP.
as for the rear wheels you have more of a power loss thru the auto than the manual.

So, if someone put a stage 2 or 3 cam in their auto, would that make up most of the HP dif.?

Yep, I see a lot of places still quoting the original estimated numbers. Any doubts, just check chevy.com/camaro .
