Turbos - What am I getting myself into

As the title says.
I am considering turbos for my L99 and need to know what other supporting items that I am going to need

Already have a 3.45 rear to go in.

Am I going to need to get a converter or is stock enough.
Do I have to get larger injectors and fuel pump?
So many questions.

Please advise before I jump down a rabbit hole that I can't get out of.

Are you looking at a specific kit? Generally speaking you will need new injectors and a fuel pump upgrade at a minimum. A torque converter that works with the turbos is a good idea as well. It really depends on how much horsepower and boost you're looking to run.

ID1050X injectors, for pump you could go double ZL1 or a Squash setup so you're not limited, depending on what pump setup consider/research a BAP. A FPCM from ADM. These are solid fuel upgrades but like Juiced said, it all depends on just how much boost you're planning to run. You also need to look at how many miles are on the engine, because if you're going to be running more than like 12 lbs of boost (if going turbo, you obviously are) you want to think about forging the internals, not to mention a custom grind cam for your turbo setup, then theres the valvetrain, if you really want to do it right, start from the short block and work up and outward all the way to the wheels. Again, it all depends on just how much boost you are wanting to throw at that L99

I only really want to go 5 to 7 pounds. I am seeing charts that are showing 600+who with only 7 lbs on twins. Just thinking I could get the extra hp without going intok the engine.
If I am not going really high up will my stock or 85-90 lb injectors and stock pump work.

And if I am right, more injector equates to more hp.

Reading what you are looking for (600hp on pump gas) and what you have in your sig so far I would suggest going Super/Pro charger. I would not run a turbo kit on pump gas, stock injectors and just a zl1 pump with adm controller unless you plan to run meth. Each to their own though, turbos are great for moving up hp when you need to and are very efficient. Just be prepared to spend money if you venture this way. All I can say is do not go cheap on fueling.

If I did the math right, with an 85lb injector you should be in the 60% neighborhood of their duty cycle on pump gas with turbos. But you'll want a ZL1 pump and a BAP if shooting for 600rwhp, again mileage on the stock pump is a factor in this. No reason to starve your engine, right?

TC, I am not seeing anything in your signature about already having a cam upgrade.

I must assume that you are still running the stock OEM L99 cam and AFM lifters? If so, I would not consider any sort of power adder until you have that sorted out. I wouldn't even entertain the thought of trying to push 600+rwhp through the AFM lifters/stock L99 valve train.

Is your mods signature current?
