UPDATE (11/27/2013): It has also been discovered that the carrier in the 2LS differential is different than the automatic LT model carrier. Automatic LT owners can change their gears to an aftermarket 3.55 set, but these same aftermarket gears will not fit in the 2LS carrier. The carriers have different listed part numbers and prices. Also, again, respectfully, you aren't reading what I posted, or what the sticky posted by extension. The rear axle ratio has nothing to do with the differential carrier itself, nor the rest of the independent rear end parts. You are right about the rear end ratio. But the carrier is physically different. You cannot use automatic V6 rear end parts in a manual V6, or vice versa, without changing everything so you effectively have the opposite set up.
