Tire and Wheel insurance?

To all,
can anyone tell me where you have purchased this tire and wheel insurance that I have heard discussed on this site?

My dealer said he does not offer it. If car will only have about 20 miles when I get it home, could I go to a local dealer and buy it from them?

Thanks

i bought it but there are catches. the tire has to be unrepairable and bubbles dont count. The rim must be bent to the point it does not seal the bead or the will not cover it. does not cover any curb damage or sidewall damage either. basically you must hit something to severly bend the rim and then drive flat and ruin the tire.

I have aftermarket insurance specifically for my rims. It was dirt cheap (less than $100/year) and covers everything including cosmetic issues. The way I figure it, if I have to replace a RIM in the first 5 years, it pays for itself.

Tire warranties are bogus in my opinion. Too many loop holes.

The OP is asking where to buy the insurance. It is typically offered thorough the dealer. I guess not all dealers offer this type of coverage.

Bought mine at the dealer, thought all dealers offered this....
Mine said it was normally offered to Vette customers but ZL1 tires qualify

I purchased it from the dealership when I bought/picked up the car. They asked $650 and I countered w/$500. Didn't know their cost at the time, but the dealership jumped on the $500, which means I could of bought it for much less. They pay a little under $300 I remember reading here before. Yes you can get it from another dealership, I think there's a two week window. Offer them $300 as a starting point, they say no, tell'em you'll go to the next dealership. I got a nail in my tire w/600 miles. They ordered a new tire, then scratched my rim putting on the new tire so they then had to order a new rim. Took two and a half months for the new rim to come in, tire was the next day. Total cost to the dealer was around $1,500 and for the long wait the service manager threw in the ZL1 floor mats. It also includes $100 towards a hotel nite stay if you have a blowout while/when dealerships are closed and no charge to bring/flat bed the vehicle to the closest dealership. I had a small nail, about an inch long and these tires are NOT supposed to ever be plugged. Anyway it's all a personal choice/decision. For me it was a no brainer, which already paid for itself.

I had aftermarket wheels ruined in a BP carwash last summer. I contacted my bank/insurance company and they covered the whole thing....$1800. All I had was full coverage on my car. Bottom line, the car wash solution totally ruined the finish beyond buffing or repair. I called immediately to resolve the issue.

Different dealers are going to have different products! READ it closely and make sure it covers comsmetic damage because if it doesn't state it ON the contract it doesn't cover it, no matter what the finance guy tells you.
WE offer a 4 year for $469.00 and a 5 year for $499.00 this covers up to $600 per tire, $1,200 per wheel, $75.00 for mounting/balancing, $30.00 flat repair, and $60.00 for roadside assistance. Policy has a $7,000.00 cap. It does not cover cosmetics so if you hit something, BACK up and hit it again, HARD!

Thanks everyone. I am so excited & a little scared. My dad had some 396's in his day but this is a little new to me. I need to be careful for a while.

Making final payment tomorrow & having Reliable Carriers transport back to Murrysville per the recommendation of the Fbodfather. He rocks!

Bring on spring!

I will post pics of the all black ZL1 vert beast asap.

My service plan, the one from the dealership, a flat tire, the hole has to be of some certain diameter, like a big spike nail went thru it, but the service manager told me they cover any size nail, they can enlarge the hole to meet the plans criteria. So finding a really good dealership is more than just getting the price. Although I have to say I got both, great price and great service.

Up to this point I thought that all dealers offered tire/wheel insurance. I purchased mine at the dealership when I bought the car. Two days later I had a screw in a rear tire, went to the dealer and they said that they would order me a new tire that day. It turned out that the screw was mostly just the head and it didn't actually puncture the tire. However, the dealer stood behind their warranty so I felt good about it.
