MACE Ported Intake Manifold Impressions?
Alright, so its been quite a bit of time since Mace has been porting intake manifolds and wanted to know if anyone had any impressions about it? I'm contemplating on whether I should go with this mod or if I should save and go with headers? If this mod presents gains, I'd like to know since I know they won't be doing it for long and would like to get mine ported before they start other projects. So post your experiences please!

Should be getting mine later this week. I am installing plenum spacer/insulator and ported IM all at the same time. I will post ASAP!

installed 25mm spacers and ported Im at the same time.
install went pretty easy. ok, finally got to lean on it a bit. just over 100 miles since adding, all i can say is "dayymm"!!! not FI power, but very significant, love the pick up from 2k up to about 4k. parts of the road that i feel like i have to drop down to 5th, the road starts uphill section, doesn't feel that way any longer, just push the pedal slightly and she goes right on. love it!!! it even seems to sound better, not sure if that is possible??? plus, i got about 2mpg better for my 50 mile loop!!! gravy!!! |

a bit off topic...
Sleez....I have an ABM as well and I was thinking about going with a color similar to your intake lol. I think yours looks pretty sweet! I don't mean to copy your work but I am curious what color that is...is it just a regular gold color? I had thought about white or orange, but just not sure orange would work with the ABM, and I'm thinking white could show too much dust even though my engine bay stays mostly clean.

Yea, I know what you mean about the dyno. The only time I'm going to dyno is after all my mods and that will be to get my tune down perfectly

Bmore posted gains from the ported intake + 25mm spacers together and those gains are similar if not more than posted gains from headers. Having installed the spacers on mine and having helped install headers on a friend's car, I would say go with the ported intake and spacers if you are choosing one or the other. Headers add a nice sound, but the ease of installation of the manifold + spacers plus cost give it the edge in my book.

Fuse box cover would be good.
I just helped install a set of headers on my uncles car this past weekend and it sucked Lol. It was a pain! I already have the spacer so I was wondering if the im would be worth it. Just wanted to hear others impressions on it |

Yes Sleez, that does look great!
I bought blue paint (car is IBM- would have got the light blue had it been available), for my IM. I have no imagination!! Is that IM cover polished as well? |
