Cool to see more updates on your Z.
Two things... 1) why did you have to break in the cam (since its a roller) and 2) do you have a template or measurements for the holes in the cowl mod, cause ..damn..there is no way to fit any kinda tools back there. I saw somebody posted on here that the bolts are accessible with a socket etc. I gotta say no way to that one. tried it there is no way I can see. Used my whole array of snap on sockets, swivels, extentions flex head and non flex head ratchets, wrenches, ratchet wrenches.. Can't even get a wrench back there to the middle ones unless its a custom 14" long bent 10mm. Then there's the torque wrench access on the install.. Anyway if there are more details you can give me on the holes and plugs I'd appreciate it cause I'm stumped at this point. PM me if you like. On an up note, I got my ADM cold air installed this weekend, and my lingenfelter hx reservoir and headers put in. Man, is it LOUD. Can't do anything with it yet but idle cause the tune isn't in it yet but it smells rich as was expected.

On the holes, I did not make a template, sorry. I just had a buddy help me eyeball from 2 angles to get the drill bit above the right spot based on the contour of the cover. A couple of my holes were slightly off but I made them 3/4 of an inch in diameter so a 10mm, 1/4" socket had some wiggle room. Good luck on your mods. Share the results! Thanks to KDi and Damon for everything! If it wasn't for your experience with LSA's to guide me, I would be paying someone else to do my build and I really wanted to do as much of this on my own as I could.
I can't wait to tune the car with Damon and get it back to the Dyno! |

On the plug wires, did you re-use the metal plug insulators?

I'd PM Andy at ADM and see if he can give you more details on how he does it.

I did use the metal insulators but they fit pretty tight in the Mast head spark plug holes so I'm going to use the 7" plug wire insulators from Mr Gasket instead. The 2 wires that got a little hot were on the 2 middle on the driver's side and they were just a little too close to the headers. Ironically, if I had left the stock wires on they would have been too short and thus further away from the headers.
